Sacramento Kitchen Remodel: A Complete Transformation on 46th Street

A well-designed kitchen remodel should do more than update finishes. It should completely transform how a space looks, feels, and functions. This Sacramento kitchen remodel at a home on 46th Street is a clear example of how thoughtful planning, high-quality materials, and expert craftsmanship can turn an outdated kitchen into a modern, highly functional centerpiece of the home.
Kitchen & bath CRATE worked closely with the homeowners to redesign their kitchen from the ground up, addressing layout limitations, improving workflow, and introducing durable, timeless materials that elevate the entire space. The result is a kitchen that feels cohesive, efficient, and designed for everyday living.
Custom Cabinetry That Defines the Space
The foundation of this Sacramento kitchen remodel begins with custom cabinetry designed for both form and function. The kitchen features 5-piece Shaker cabinet door and drawer faces in the kCC Falton style, paired with a ½ overlay cabinet frame for a clean, tailored look. The cabinetry is constructed using stain-grade alder, with vertical grain orientation for added visual depth and consistency throughout the space.
Soft-close functionality was incorporated throughout, including Blum Euro soft-close hinges and soft-close drawer glides, ensuring smooth, quiet operation. Storage was further enhanced with practical solutions such as a pull-out double trash bin, Kessebohmer blind-corner pullouts, and a dedicated bake center with added electrical and under-cabinet lighting.
Hardware selections include Amerock Westerly cabinet pulls in black bronze, used consistently on both doors and drawers to maintain a cohesive, refined look throughout the kitchen.

Quartz Countertops with a Refined Finish
To complement the cabinetry, the kitchen features Revera Brussels Blue Quartz in a honed finish, creating a soft, matte surface that adds depth without glare. This quartz selection was carried throughout the space, including the window sill and the custom dog watering station niche, ensuring visual continuity across all surfaces.
The countertops were fabricated with a 2-inch mitered eased edge using 2cm thickness, giving the countertops a substantial appearance while maintaining clean lines. Faucet and air-switch cutouts were carefully centered to support daily usability.
Tile Backsplash That Adds Color and Texture
Tile plays a major role in this Sacramento kitchen remodel, introducing color and texture while remaining durable and easy to maintain. The backsplash features Cloe Green 2x8 tile, installed horizontally in a ½ offset pattern from Bedrosians that creates subtle movement across the walls. Tile extends to the ceiling at the window, enhancing the vertical presence of the cabinetry and giving the space a finished, intentional look.
Edges and transitions were completed with Cloe Green Jolly trim (½” x 8”) for a clean, professional finish. Grout selection includes Laticrete 22 Midnight Black, installed at a ⅛-inch grout width, providing contrast that defines each tile without overpowering the overall design.
The same tile and grout combination was used at the dog watering station, creating consistency between the main kitchen and this custom feature.

Modern Sink and Plumbing Fixtures
At the center of the kitchen workspace is a Blanco Precis Silgranit undermount super single-bowl sink in Anthracite. With a depth of 10 inches, the sink offers generous capacity for daily cooking and cleanup tasks. It is paired with a Kohler Simplice faucet in Vibrant Stainless, featuring a tall spout height for added reach and flexibility.
The kitchen also includes a ½ HP InSinkErator Badger 5 compact garbage disposal, installed in a centered location with an integrated air switch for convenience and safety.
One of the standout elements of this remodel is the custom dog watering station, equipped with a Signature Hardware Vivan double-handle wall-mounted faucet and a matching quartz base. This thoughtful addition blends seamlessly into the overall kitchen design while adding everyday functionality.
Appliance Integration and Electrical Improvements
This Sacramento kitchen remodel included updates to appliance locations and the infrastructure needed to support them. The kitchen features a Bosch 500 Series 24" dishwasher, a new LG 7.3 cu. ft. Electric Double Oven Range with ProBake Convection® and EasyClean® all-electric stove and oven combination, updated hood ventilation, and a relocated microwave positioned on a dedicated shelf.
Electrical routing, ventilation ducting, and water lines were added or adjusted as needed to support the new layout, ensuring both performance and long-term reliability.

Paint Palette That Brings It All Together
The finishing touch of this Sacramento kitchen remodel is a carefully coordinated paint palette. Walls are painted Sherwin-Williams SW 0016 Billiard Green, adding depth and warmth to the space. The ceiling is finished in Sherwin-Williams SW 7004 Snowbound, keeping the room bright and balanced.
Trim, baseboards, doors, and window sills are painted Sherwin-Williams SW 6994 Greenblack, grounding the design and complementing the cabinetry stain, Sherwin-Williams SB025 Warmth.
